>> a pleasant good morning to you, 7:00 a.m., saturday, february 11 i'm gray hall alongside jeanette reyes. here's some of the stories we're following on "action news." final respects for a delaware corrections officer killed during a prison uprising. lieutenant steven floyd will be laid to rest today. >> a man is rushed to the hospital after he was shot at least 6 times. plus, a weekend mixture, we're enjoying much milder temperatures, but tracking the return of rain. meteorologist chris sowers is outside, with the accuweather forecast. you're not shivering, right? >> reporter: temperatures are below freezing, but we've lost the wind that we had in the last 48 hours that put windchills in the single digits that's gone.

20 degrees in the poconos, 25 in allentown. everybody north and west of philadelphia, you're below freezing. if there's snow on the grown in your neighborhood you'll have icy patches out there. reading, 27. trenton, 29. wilmington, 30. millville, 39. atlantic city is showing 40. and dover is checking in at 41. you factor in the breeze, again this is much easier to handle than what we were dealing with two days ago. feels like 35 in millville. 34 in dover. 36 degrees in atlantic city. satellite and radar along with action radar, lots of clouds expected out here today with peeks of sunshine and those peeks should be good enough to get us into the 50s later on. the snow will start melting. 44 degrees by 1:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m. -- 11:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m., 47. we're shooting for a comfortable high of 52. rain rolls in sunday, look for occasional rain and drizzle and it becomes very, very wind on

monday, and then we're watching a midweek storm. i'll have the details on all that coming up in ten minutes. guys? >> look forward to it, chris, thank you for the update. it will be a somber day in delaware, him family friends and colleagues say final farewell to a corrections officer killed during a hostage siege at a prison last week. >> lieutenant steven floyd will be laid to west -- rest today. flags are flying at half staff in his honor. it was a week ago wednesday when inmates took floyd and three others hostage. floyd who was 47 years old was the only death stemming from the intense standoff. funeral services will be held at noon. someone shot a man 6 times in philadelphia's olney section. at least one bullet hit that

victim in his head. this happened in the 5700 block of north 19th street. police got the call at 2:30 a.m. the officers rushed the victim to einstein medical center where he had surgery. the shooter has not been caught. this morning two people recovering after several cars collided. it happened in south jersey, chopper 6 hd over that scene along route 130 and neck road in burlington township. four cars collided at 7:30 last night. one victim was flown to the hospital to be treated. there's no word on what led to the accident. septa riders this morning work continues on the damaged market frankford el train. septa said it made enough progress that supplemental buses are no longer needed. cracks were found in five dozen train cars that were taken out of commission. they have increased the number of operating trains by 30% by

reconfiguring other cars. uber and lyft is legal in the garden state. the state attorney general will decide whether the criminal background checks by uber and lyft are sufficient. from our new jersey newsroom, a state j you judge wl decide whether chris christie will face a criminal case over the bridgegate scandal. on thursday he ruled that the case could proceed, but a higher court sent it back to the judge. chris christie is accused of starting a traffic jam on the george washington bridge back in 2013 to punish a mayor who did

not endorse him. a college student who sued her parents for college tuition lost her court battle. she wanted to force her divorced parents to pay $16,000 out of state tuition. the parents refused and appealed the sedition to a higher court. yesterday, the judge ruled in the parents' favor putting an end to the legal battle. a 1,000-dollar reward is being offered for a large peels of equipment that's the lifeline of a northeast philadelphia restaurant. the meat smoker was stolen from fat jack's it is a two ton piece of equipment that handles 700 pounds of meat for two locations. >> it's not something you would just drive by and say let's take that smoker. it's not going to happen.

>> reporter: the owner said he will use the smoker from another restaurant and transport the meat in a freezer truck for now. the smoker is worth $30,000. >> members of the tacony synagogue showed their gratitude after being victims. vandalism. >> reporter: dozens gathered for a special service of appreciation a thank you for those who helped after the synagogue's windows were recently vandalized. >> we've been so overwhelmed and touched by the outpouring from the community in financial and letters. >> reporter: the glazers union donated time and material to replace 8 windows smashed before a friday evening service. that was the second time in two months that rocks were aimed at the colorful windows. >> it was a hate crime.

>> reporter: since an arrest has not been made, the motives are unclear, the rabbi fears it is an example of growingtolerance . >> people don't like people who are different. >> reporter: news of vandalism spread, a community member paid $3,000 to replace the windows and ten thousand dollars rolled in for the installed security cameras. >> we got donations far as utah, california, new york. >> i think it is is wonderful people really care. >> and supporters came to show it. >> we wanted to show our support as representatives of the sikh community. >> i felt like the community is coming together and i want to be a part of that. >> we're all one people working together for peace. >> reporter: this temple has been part of the tacony neighborhood for 92 years, long time members say this is the

there's snow pack on the ground watch out for slick spots and icy patches. camden, gloucester and burlington counties, temperatures in the upper 20s, where the snow is on the ground. where we're seeing bare ground, we're in the 30s and 40s. 38 in geamed beach -- gandys beach, hammonton, 36. for all areas north and west or areas that have the snow on the ground, temperatures in the 20s, watch out for the black ice and the snow on the secondary roads and sidewalks. there will be icy patches out there. most importantly is the black ice, the black ice appears to be wet, in reality it's grazed over. that's the slippery stuff. be careful over the next couple of hours, 8:00 a.m., or 9:00 a.m., most numbers will go above freezing and that stuff will start to melt. saturday clouds and sunshine later on today. future tracker 6 we'll stop the

clock at 5:00 p.m. sun and clouds, nothing going on. overnight tonight, clouds thicken, sunday morning, here comes the moisture. the farther north you go the lehigh valley the poconos it could start out a sleet and freezing rain. that will continue throughout the day up there. everybody else looking at a cold rain temperatures in the 40s. this storm will bomb out once it hits the new england coast. winter weather advisory for sleet and freezing rain for the poconos as well as north hampton county where you could see icing taking place. most of the models shown minor icing, didn't show a whole lot, but enough to produce problems. as we continue to advance future tracker 6 and into monday morning, all of a sudden this storm becomes a meteorologic bomb. the pressure is deepens and the

everyone, 7:23 a.m. saturday morning, taking a quiek -- quick look at the snowfall totals in new england. look at cooper, maine. 24 inches. nottingham, new hampshire, 17 inches of snow. the next storm on the way is what we call a weather bomb. here's philadelphia we have two areas of low pressure one across eastern kentucky and one in the southern provinces of canada, they will come together around here, this is where the storm starts to intensify. what will happen with the bomb it will produce heavy amounts of snow up through here, and strong gusty winds in our neck of the woods as the storm sits here and spins and spins and throws all

was killed during an inmate standoff will be laid to rest today. >> new overnight, philadelphia police are searching for a driver who dragged an officer with his suv. president trump is meeting with his japanese counterpart at his estate. >> chris sowers is at the "action news" big board with more on what to expect. >> reporter: today is a good one, tomorrow is a bad one. if you have outdoor plans hopefully they are today. we'll see sunshine today, tomorrow it's damp and dreary and periods of rain. temperature-wise we're below freezing everywhere west of that line, so be careful there could be icy patches out there, especially in places like montgomery, berks county the lehigh valley where you picked up a moderate snowfall wednesday night and thursday's event. south and east of that line, all of a sudden we're in the upper 30s and low 40s already and

officers who was killed. >> a viewing will be held for steven floyd at 8:00 a.m. and funeral will follow at noon. floyd was killed after being taken hostage at the vaughn corrections center in smyrna. police say a ford explorer hit a vehicle at 62nd and market and drove away. an officer spotted it and pulled it over a few blocks away. when the officer approached the vehicle, the driver took off dragging the officer along with it for a short distance. the injured officer was treated for scrapes and bruises. authorities found the ford suv involved in the incident, but are looking for the person who was behind the wheel. time 7:32, cumberland prosecutor is investigating a police involved shooting that left a man dead. it started with a foot chase yesterday afternoon near south

and north freemont avenues. at least one officer shot in the direction of the man running from police. that man died as a result. the preliminary investigation finds a weapon was found near the man. he was not identified. a new jersey state trooper who shot a man defending his own property will not face any charges. gerald sykes was shot by a trooper in his home back in july. the shooting happened after a misdirected 911 call mistakenly traced to his address. sykes grabbed a gun believing there were intruders at the back door, but it was two state troopers, one fired a shot hitting sykes several times. sykes return fire hitting a trooper. the trooper will not be charged because he felt he was in immediate danger. businessman and
